Daphne & Aristede have baby kittens! Ready Mid-September.

The Stars of RegencyRags Past and Present...

Many people have asked me where I come up with those names for my cats.  And from those who don't ask I get a raised eyebrow.  Now my family gets right to the point.  They're like those aren't names for cats!  I guess they're thinking of good ol' Fluffy.

In any case, I thought I'd highlight my cats and their namesake for each of my cats are named after characters in Dark Shadows.

And what of the ultra lovely Angelique?  Of course her namesake
Angelique Bouchard.  I've always thought I made good matches
with the characters, and in this case I'd say I out did myself!

Daphne was born to me in my own home.  Her birthname was Devlyn.
Wanting to keep something close to that, I decided on Daphne, the
character played by Kate Jackson near the tail end of Dark Shadows
run.

Josette has the honor of being my very first Dark Shadows cat.
As such I started with my very favorite character -- Josette Dupre.
You have to experience those episodes with Barnabus and the
music box to really understand why I would choose Josette as
my first name.  Katherine put everything she had into that
role making it an outstanding success.

I think Josette is an outstanding success herself which shows
I picked just the right name for her!

With these two baby girls I wanted to do something unique.
I wanted to name them after their mothers, but also give their
name some individuality -- no juniors here.

To the right is a picture of the same actress who portrayed
Angelique, yet, as soap operas go, the cast often play many
different characters.  In this instance, Alexis is the twin sister
to Angelique.

This is Maggie.  As above I wanted to name her after her beloved mother Josette.
My very heart kitten now lives with a wonderful family and her sweetheart named
Leo in Austin, TX.

To the right is the character Aristede, henchman to Count Petoffi and namesake of
my own beloved Aristede.

This boy, actually called BabyBee, was the first boy meant just for Josette.  However, the best laid plans are broken.  Bee did not take well to being a whole male.  He found a wonderful home with one of my neighbors and Josette has been Barnabus-less ever since.

Then also there is Quentin, the boy who was to be Angelique's beloved.  Unfortunately Angelique found a man on her own, one not even with a Dark Shadows name.  To date, even with all my name planning, there has never been a mating between two Dark Shadows cats.  Oh well.  My very own Quentin lives in Pleasanton, California.

Finally there is Willie, my very sweetest and forever in my heart boy.  If it looks like I've gone through a lot of males I have.  Mostly due to the hardship of keeping an adult male that sprays.  So, to prevent caging my males and wanting to keep them happy, I often keep them a short time then find them a happy pet home before they start spraying.  My beloved Willie lives in Rancho Santa Margarita.
